Cox Communications is searching for a Network Planning Engineer who will be responsible for improving operational efficiencies around network planning including developing tools for measuring, modelling and forecasting network traffic, infrastructure capacity needs, and related performance and capacity management. Ensures data and process quality. Develops reports to clearly and succinctly communicate strategic and tactical results ensuring alignment across enterprise tools. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions bull Develops and maintains tools for measuring, modelling and forecasting network traffic, infrastructure capacity needs, and related performance bull Develops reports and documentation to clearly and succinctly communicate results bull Develop reports and analysis to verify data and process quality as well as support procedures to feedback quality problems for owning teams for resolution bull Interfaces to related models, procedures, and organizations bull Identifies, researches, and resolves discrepancies in analytical procedures or cross-functional methods Related Tasks bull Work with product and engineering teams to identify and refine requirements bull Collect network performance data from various sources bull Work with corporate and regional engineers to operationalize and document capacity plans bull Work with EMO and Finance teams to create and execute budget bull Work with Atlanta engineering teams and vendors to develop 0 - 18 month tactical plans. bull Conducts impact analyses and validation studies through all stages concept formulation, definition of metrics, determination of appropriate statistical methodology, research evaluation, and final research report bull Provides and conducts trend analysis to support business operations may include budget modeling bull Interprets operational requirements and methods and procedures for inclusion in studies and analysis, and to conduct root causes analyses and make recommendations to improve the business processes bull Provides recommendations for operational efficiencies and process improvements and assists in policy development to support change initiatives bull Write code to automate reports and templates and consolidate data into reports and knowledge bull Conducts statistical analyses to create actionable insights for department leadership bull With guidance, presents data and provides recommendations to department leadership for their use in making operational decisions, identifying process improvements and developing policy development to support change initiatives bull Provides input to leadership on performance issues and operational process improvements bull Uses and may program statistical analysis software bull Ability to prioritize work and remain productive whether in office or remote bull Ability to simplify complex concepts and analysis results for Executive review Qualifications Minimum bull 2+ years in related field (IT, Engineering, Technology) bull Robust communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills bull Experience in researching and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data bull Experience working with large data sets, analysis and methods bull Experience developing automated reporting bull Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications in a work setting with strong knowledge in Excel Preferred bull BABS in computer science or a related field strongly desired bull Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications in a work setting with strong knowledge in Excel bull Experience developing automated reporting bull Demonstrates an understanding of data quality theory and procedures bull Experience debugging analytical code and processes bull Experience researching and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data bull Experience working with large data sets, and recommending innovative analytical solutions bull Experience working in communications industry with a focus on telecommunications, data, cable Who We Are About Cox Communications Cox Communications is committed to creating meaningful moments of human connection through broadband applications and services.
