We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our MIS Department. The Network Engineer will provide the technical expertise needed to support day-to-day network operations. This includes designing, maintaining, and auditing a rapidly growing network topology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of development, operations, and business requirements. 

The ideal candidate has a very strong understanding of core LAN and WAN networking concepts and experience instrumenting and monitoring network devices along with knowledge of advanced and leading edge networking technologies. General responsibilities include maintenance and administration of networks and related support systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to systems and networks, and implementation of network projects. This includes supporting technology needs of end-users throughout the organization. 

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain the network at the highest possible level of performance and uptime
  • Assist in ensuring 24/7 availability of services and infrastructure in our production environment
  • Administration of Cisco hardware such as routers, switches, wireless APs, and ASA firewalls
  • Respond to after hour emergencies, lead the mitigation and resolution processes
  • Research, develop, and implement new technologies and best practices
  • Develop and maintain documentation (drawings, IP schemes, technical writing) 
  • Proactively monitor and audit the health and availability of our networks
  • Participate in scalability and growth decisions
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex network issues
  • Establish network specifications in conjunction with the Infrastructure Managers
  • Secure network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and varied requests
  • Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills :

  • 5+ years of network support experience
  • Advanced understanding of WAN technologies such as QoS, MPLS, IPSEC, and SSL client VPNs
  • Complete understanding of the OSI model
  • Advanced skills with Cisco CCNA/CCNP preferred
  • Fundamental understanding and/or hands on experience with SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP, and IP administration
  • Experience with load balancers
  • LAN protocols (Spanning Tree Protocol, VLAN Trunking)
  • Experience with routing protocols (BGP)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Experience with monitoring software such as Solarwinds/PRTG
  • Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing, and operation
