Manager E-Commerce and Small Package Logistics

Principal Duties / Responsibilities Directs the management, communication, and coordination of the movement of goods with internal and external transportation providers to meet service and cost expectations Develops and implements a comprehensive logistics strategy for E Commerce and small package delivery execution Works closely with all business segments in developing a simple and easy to use routing and costing model for LTL, small package and final mile delivery Translates business needs and priorities into logistics strategies and programs that contribute to driving growth and reducing costs Negotiate volume discounts with carriers Defines and implements appropriate metrics Participates in annual planning, including development of objectives, strategies and tactical planning Manages relationships with providers, vendors, and our plants to minimize costs Continuously monitor new technology and trends in the logistics industry Applies consistent interaction with carriers and internal personnel to build strong relationships and drive results Determine cost effective final mile delivery strategy for deck package deliveries
Requirements Bachelor's degree in logistics or related discipline or equivalent A minimum of fifteen years of experience in a logistics role, with at least five years overseeing and managing a multi-functional logistics team Experience working with: parcel, small package, LTL and final mile delivery operations Solid experience and understanding of logistics software Solid experience and understanding of tracking software/dispatching software Working knowledge on Microsoft office products Working knowledge of standard DOT concepts, regulations, practices and procedures

Demonstrated skills in leading complex, multi-faceted projects and team of people. Ability to pass a drug test
